The Acting Zonal Director of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mr. Efia Okiim, has called on the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Taraba State Council, to uphold ethical standards and strengthen collaboration in the fight against corruption.
Northern Pilot reports that, he made the call during a courtesy visit to the NUJ Secretariat in Jalingo, where he stressed the importance of partnership between the media and anti-corruption agencies in promoting transparency and accountability across the country.
Mr. Okiim, an Assistant Commander of the EFCC and member of the Commission’s elite Cadet Course 1, has risen through the ranks to become Acting Zonal Director.
He is recognized for his involvement in high-profile investigations nationwide and for his discipline, professionalism, and operational excellence.
Responding, the Chairman of the NUJ, Taraba State Council, Comrade Mathew Eliud Jen, assured the Commission of the union’s support in advancing the anti-corruption campaign.
He highlighted the critical role of journalists in strengthening accountability within government institutions and pledged continued cooperation with the EFCC.(Northern Pilot Media)
