Sukur Community Honors Adamawa NUJ Chairman Abdullahi,Urges Exemplary Leadership

The Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Adamawa State Council, Comrade Abdullahi Ibrahim, has been honored by the Sukur Development Association, Central Zone.

‎The association, led by Mr. Haruna Amos, presented gifts to Comrade Abdullahi Ibrahim in recognition of his achievements and as a proud member of the association.

‎Mr. Haruna stated that the visit was a mark of honor and a demonstration of solidarity with the chairman in his position as the number one journalist in Adamawa State.

‎He noted that this was the first time in history that a person of Sukur extraction has occupied such a position, not only in the state but in Nigeria as a whole.

‎He used the occasion to advise the NUJ chairman to lead by example and serve as a good ambassador of the Sukur people, who are widely known for their integrity, trustworthiness, and dedication to duty.

Mr. Haruna also expressed appreciation to all members of the NUJ at both the state and national levels for supporting one of their own to lead such a respected union.

‎ He urged them to continue offering their support and cooperation to ensure the chairman succeeds in fulfilling his leadership responsibilities.

He further emphasized that the Sukur Development Association will continue to identify with and support its members wherever they find themselves in positions of leadership.

Other speakers at the event expressed their joy over the emergence of one of their own as the NUJ chairman in Adamawa State, appealed to him to uphold justice, transparency, and accountability as guiding principles in his leadership.

‎In his response, Comrade Abdullahi Ibrahim, visibly delighted by the visit, thanked his kinsmen for their support and assured them that he would be a worthy representative of the Sukur people.

He also expressed gratitude to all NUJ members for their support and pledged to lead by example while carrying out his duties in accordance with the NUJ constitution.

‎He reiterated that the NUJ, as a professional body, will remain apolitical in its dealings with individuals, government institutions, and political parties, especially as preparations for the 2027 general elections gather momentum.(Abdullfateemedia...)
