Managing Director of Nasarawa State Urban Development Agency, Engr. Wada Mohammed Yahaya, has explained the removal of billboards and posters of politicians from the streets saying it is part of efforts to enforce the agency’s regulations.
Yahaya stated that the agency had sent letters to political parties, informing them of the need to obtain approval before installing advertisements, but only a few complied.
He noted that the removal exercise was not targeted at any particular individual or political party, adding that all aspirants were affected.
You see that all the aspirants are affected. All of them will go down but only that some have more banners and more billboards. So certainly, the more you have, the more you’ll be affected, as long as you don’t have approval. But those that have approval, you see they are still standing.”
A group had earlier accused the state government of deliberately removing the bill boards and posters of ex-IGP Mohammed A. Adamu.
Chairman of the group, Hon. Isa Nathaniel, called on the President and APC National leadership to intervene saying the actions threaten the party’s success in the 2027 elections.
